Nah, it's cool, you're not rambling.

Heh, you sound like you would be a great reviewer for modern and contemporary art.

Sometimes I can be accused of being too pedantic (* every minute detail). I guess this is a result of my studies and my interests: writing and history. One of my favorite sayings for writing is, if the reader cannot trust you with the small details, they will not trust you with the big ones.

Ah, I've been meaning to ask you. What is your area (time) of interest in history?

I have to sign off now.
More soon (hugs included  )
Matt :)

Hey Sassy :)

What time do you usually sign on here?

My guess is at night, or really early in the morning, which I think is a little unusual for a school week. Heh, strange yet cool as always

Hi again, Sassy :D

*Tight hugs*

I have missed you too. I'm really sorry to hear you have been ill  I thought you were busy with school work, perhaps this may have been better. But it is good that you are well again and back amongst us...this place had gone suspiciously quite without you.

Heh, who ever heard of a Scot getting a cold...or an Aussie who doesn't like the taste of (most) beer? *hangs head in shame*.

Anyway, I'm glad you are healthy again  Try to stay warm and eat lots of honey...it's really good for your throat and lungs.

More to follow.
-Matt :)

Hello again, sound snatching Sassy ;)

I like some beer, but only for the taste...I can't get 'toasted' with it. If I feel a need to cut loose, and act like a fool without having to worry about doing anything important the next day (like walking), then I opt for various types of rum.

How has your holiday in America been?

Heh, when I first read about that I thought you had gone a bit too far if your were aiming for Scotland.

Time for me to sign off.

Good luck with your exams.
*Many hugs*
-Matt  8)

Black beer....ahhhh! It's amazing! You should try it.
I'll get smashed on anything save for Wine. I'm a wine snob and proud of it!
walking seems to be the least of me concerns. as long as I can tell me horse the right directions then we're ok! lol

I wanted to go to Scotland, but that might be instore on the return trip. So I dearly hoped to go see me old home soon.

America's alright but I wouldn't choose to live here. I miss home so much and the time difference is really giving me clock a bit of a rough time. I want to sleep when I should be wide awake, and I'm awake when the rest of the house is sleepin'!!! Bloody insanity I tell you!!!                    ....
Ah well, I'll try to get me work done sooner so I can get back on here more...School is starting to make me want to shoot penguines!!!!....(not sure why I chose penguines exactly..neh*shruggs*)

Any way huggles and kisses to you me lover  LOL

Heh heh heh. Why did I just think of Mel Brooks again. You've been in the sacred wine again, haven't you? You naughty donkey (or horse).

Do you mean black beer as in Guinness, or something close to it? In which case I'd probably like it...in substantial quantities...with some kind of heavy stew and bread along side it.

...Aw...

*long gentle hugs*

Jet lag and time laps can suck, huh. When I arrived in Israel the local time was 6:30am, but my body kept trying to tell me it was closer to 9pm. I was a wreck the whole day, and I finally crashed at 5pm...failing to respond to the outside world until 8am the next day. If a penguin did turn up to annoy me at some part of the day or night then, yes, I would have probably shot it too.

The return trip was not so bad. But the jet lag was more drawn out, thanks to a sixteen hour stop over in Bangkok.

Anyway. I won't detain you from your studies or rest much longer. Heh, good luck with both. Oh, and teach your horse to drive a tank...it could be useful if I end up in Europe and we manage to meet

CU and good night...neigh
Matt
*hugs once more*

So, why do you find albinos so attractive? and why call us perfect...we're the same as everyone else.... aren't we..?

This reply is almost a year late, oh-so-many apologies, but I thought a decent response to your question is needed. Not just out of (epic amounts of) respect to you, Sassy, but also to Bianca’s family and their website community.

Um, my personal experience with albinos is quite limited (to say the least) but I have always had good experiences, and I can associate my brief encounters with such amazing people with important events in my life. A good example being my trip to Israel...encounters as follows.

-When on the train ride into town to buy my air ticket I was really tense and frustrated, the trip was planned with nothing for a budget and that was getting on my nerves. One of the last stations before the city center is called Albion, and here a pretty young girl with white skin and faded blond hair boarded my train cabin and sat across the isle from me. When we arrived at the city station (located underground) she removed her sunglasses stood up to leave, I was closer to the door so I pretended to search for my ticket (yes, I am devious at times). As she passed and looked at me briefly I noticed her eyes were light crystal blue and turned inwards. Bingo! My suspicions were confirmed, the pretty girl was albino.

I had mixed feelings for the rest of the afternoon. I found myself to be really relaxed (all the stress and angst had gone), but I was constantly kicking myself for being too shy or distracted not to at least say hi. Later I concluded that a long-departed family friend was watching over me, and helped me to calm down by sending a pretty angel for me to admire.

-During my window shopping around the markets and malls in Be’er Sheba I sometimes noticed an albino lad hanging out with his friends. During my last week in Israel I noticed the boy playing a game in a computer store, and kicking his friend’s butt with mocking ease. In the same week, after walking a kilometer in 47C of dry heat, I looked up passed the traffic lights outside the same mall and I noticed a man, immaculately presented with white skin and hair, calmly walk along the foot path, across the road, and into the mall. On both occasions I was left standing in a corner, with my mouth gaping open, and one of two thoughts crashing around my mind.... ‘only in Israel’ ....or.... ‘bloody show-off’.

-My other wonderful encounter was, of course, meeting the pup Sheleg at my second Kibbutz. Another overly friendly and energetic albino (there are so many). Reflecting on that time I’m beginning to think that Sheleg was the volunteers’ guardian angel. She was always close by, watching the group, and somehow keeping us out of danger....I found two more photos of the pooch with some volunteers in the kibbutz fields. They’re digging up the freshly planted husks of mortar shells (there was never a shortage of them thanks to the Gaza Strip).

-And, finally, on my last day in Israel I traveled to Jerusalem to visit the Western Wall the Old City. That was an awesome day for so many reasons, but my departure from Jerusalem also had a memorable surprise. After a day of trekking around the Western Wall and the Jewish Quarter in the typically baking sun (not so bad except for the American tourists *shudders*) I was over heated and over tired and only thinking of crashing out in the coach back to Be’er Sheba. As I stumbled through the crowds in the Central Bus Station I passed a group of Arab women, dressed in black robes with only their faces showing. One of the younger women was completely white, including her eyes, and on seeing her I almost force-marched into a book stand. *Sighs* I’m always so easily distracted.

Done....That’s my short story of an answer. Basically I’m fond of albinos because, in different ways, they have had lasting impressions on me. I’ve never seen them, or had a reason to think of them, in a bad light (hopeless pun alert).

Ah. Something for the community in general. If anyone tries to convince you that people with albinism are less than average, unimportant, or in anyway unattractive, politely remind them that the most common icon for the Playboy franchise is an albino rabbit (researching this topic does have the occasional perk). Albinos are fascinating creations that turn up in some amazing places.
