Hi all.
I was wondering, can we albinos use fake tan? Either bottle or spray tan? Has anyone ever tried it?
I'm going away in april and was thinkin of trying a fake tan (probably spray tan) but I'm unsure how it will turn out. I'm worried it might react badly to my skin and turn out wrong and look awful.
I'm also worried that because my skin is so fair it will take longer to go away and it might stain my skin?
Any ideas anyone?
Please help.
Gem

Why don't you just try a little on like your thy or stomach and see how your skin reacts?  I did that once and I got a weird circular rash, it didn't itch, it just looked funny.

It's all your own decision...But I hope you will get a good result with spray tan, because I knew someone who tried this technique and she got a bad result: she was very very very orange

Know this is a few months late, but my sister who has albinism uses fake tan regularly and it comes out fine, although some types don't last as long.

She uses something called Airbrush Legs, which is a rub on, wash off type thing, and also she's had Santrope (don't have a clue if i spelt that right) tan before. Thats the one they do in salons that sprays on. It didn't last as long as it does on people with normal pigmentation though, we're not entirely sure why.

San tropez fake tan works with the melanin in the skin - which is something that albinos have very little of so that one wont work too well. Best to try out the ones you can get in the supermarket? Try some on an area like your tummy and see which one works best for you?

I've already tried the spray tanning. I just really like it. It could last with an average of two weeks, so it is more convenient.
